Music of Chance Pe Dance

The album contains seven originals and two remix versions of old songs, it opens with "Pe pe pepein" that starts with typical wedding music in the background. A Western song with rap by Hard Kaur and vocals by Master Saleem and Neeraj Sridhar, "Pe pe pepein" has a strong Punjabi flavour. It's a fast-paced song and slowly grows on you.
Next is "Pump it up" with Vishal Dadlani behind the mike. The song has a punch and starts with a bang. It's a full-on dance number with a mix of dhol and electronic guitaring.
Up next is a slow love ballad "Pal mein hi", which is beautifully crooned by Soham Chakrabarthy and Shreya Ghoshal. The song brings in a tranquillising effect. It's a sweet and pleasing romantic number that touches a chord with the listener.
Then we have another fast track in the guise of "One more dance". The song sung by Kunal Ganjawala is not that impressive. The song has a techno feel and is meant for the dance floor; it, however, fails to create an impact and falls flat.
It is followed by "Yaba Daba Yahoo". Sung by Kunal Ganjawala, it takes the dance flavour of the album further. A fun number, it has a heavy dose of English lyrics.
"Rishta hai mera", sung by Shaan and Tulsi Kumar, changes the mood of the album. It's a soft, smooth song. An inspirational number, "Rishta hai mera" is a melodious composition and generates interest.
Finally there is "Just do it". High on electronic arrangements, the song has been crooned by Amit Kumar and director Ken Ghosh has composed it. It has influences of hip hop and is a dance number yet gain.
On the whole, if you want to dance away to glory, then 'Chance Pe Dance' is the album you are looking for.

Advance Your Singing to get a Singing Job

Singing career is not the easiest thing in the real world. There is plenty of competition and there are limited job openings. However, singing jobs might not be as scarce as you are thinking after reading these lines, you can still get a great break into the singing industry. I want to raise awareness of all the singing jobs seekers to help those who has less financially fortunate than others.
To start, you have to decide where you want to work in the singing industry. The way I see it, there are two paths to take in your singing career. You can perform or you can produce, the artistic end or the technical end. I know, these lines often blur, but you know what I’m getting at in terms of choices you have to make
Time to suck it up and get out into the workforce, but make sure you can get a job that incorporates singing. Singing jobs like this include anything from volunteer singing to entertain the elderly or sick, to being a singing waiter. You could be a singing telegram, sing in dinner shows, sing radio jingles, be in TV commercials (national or local), sing at theme or amusement parks, or get singing gigs at local bars and clubs. Research and try to sing at local ceremonies or annual events. There are graduating film directors or animators that might need your voice for an upcoming project. Sing in the chorus of a theater production or in the church choir. Don’t forget, you can always start or audition for a band. You could soon land a gig as a back-up singer for a touring band. You could sing the anthem at a sporting event (doesn’t have to be at Madison Square Garden), or even get a spot on some Internet promotion. These are some singing jobs that you might not have thought about before, but they are still singing jobs. Although some are not ideal for a rock star persona, they will add to your singing resume and help develop your skills as a singer. Who knows who might be watching you sing, it might be a record producer out with his family. In the meantime, scour the classifieds for singing auditions.

Indian music - A bands and the beauty of true music

Why are the creations of Indian music bands considered to be exquisite? The truth is that they use certain musical instruments which are to be found nowhere else in the world. We are talking of course about, the sitar and tabla. The first actually represents a large, long-necked lute and it is one of the most popular Indian instruments. The Indian tabla is an instrument that consists of two small, single-headed hand drums, producing a wide variety of sounds. Whether one sings folk, R&B or classical music, the truth is that there is something special about each song interpreted by Indian music bands. Two of the most special varieties include Carnatic and Hindustani music, songs pertaining to these two categories being presented on My Band as well.
Speaking on more professional terms, Indian music bands create their songs using both melodic and rhythmic forms, or as they call them, Rag and Tal. It’s not for nothing that these songs seems to have a rather unique Western influence, given the fact that the melodic form is in many ways similar to the Western modes. However, there are small differences, that only a trained eye is capable of noticing. As for the rhythmic form, this is what actually gives flavor to the music, being different from one song to another. You will discover that all songs presented by Indian music bands are different, yet they remind of the same ancient musical tradition. Start your journey into the depths of Indian music and discover beautiful songs at My Band; you will definitely be impressed with the creations posted online.

Singer Anushka Shankar work with A. R. Rahman

From Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy to Vishal-Shekhar, pop star-turned-VJ-turned-playback singer Anushka Manchanda is working with all the big composers in the industry, but she is desperate to work with one man - Oscar winning music maestro A.R. Rahman.
Anushka was a member of an all girls pop band “Viva” and ventured into playback singing in Tamil films after the band split.
In 2006, she got her first big break in Hindi films for “Golmaal”, in which music was composed by Vishal-Shekhar. This was followed by several other songs in the films like “Ugli Aur Pagli”, “Cash”, “Chak De! India” and “Chandni Chowk To China” among others.
The 24-year-old, who has big banner films, including “Luck”, “Kites” and “Aladdin” among others in her kitty, says she had initially wanted to be in the advertising field.
Anushka is critical of herself and says she was a very bad singer five years ago, but has learnt a lot since then.
So which heroine would she like to sing for in future? When asked whether formal training is a prerequisite to become a successful singer, she was quick to reply: “I don’t think so. It helps if you sing songs which are completely classical based, where I take more time, but it’s not something you can’t do without.

Kishore Kumar never had formal training but he was a great singer and hugely successful.”

Lata Mangeshkar record a song for Jail

Lata Mangeshkar On last Friday (5th Jun 09), Lata Mangeshkar record a track for Madhur Bhandarkar's new movie Jail at a studio in Andheri (Mumbai). The melody queen had given her nod to sing for the film starring Neil Nitin Mukesh (Grand son of Mukesh Kumar), a while back. And now she is honouring her commitment. Moreover she is singing for a Hindi film after a hiatus.
The track 'Daata Sun, Maula Sun' is being sung for the movie which takes a look at the life of prisoners in India. Buzz is that the makers want Mangeshkar's number to be akin to the 'Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum' song in V Shaantaram's movie Do 'Aankhen Barah Haath' which also dealt with prisoners on indian jails.
Says Latadidi, 'Yes', I am recording for the song. I was approached by Madhur. But it is not that I am singing for a film after a while. I have been rendering tracks for regional films as well as devotional tracks. Even after my knee operation earlier this year, I have been up and about at the recording studios.
Lata Mangeshkar had also agreed to render the track because of her old association with Neil's family. She considered his grandfather (great singer Mukesh Kumar) her brother, I used to call him Mukesh bhaiya (brother Mukesh) and I had suggested that he name his grandson Neil.'' She was was also with Mukesh during his last moments in USA.
''Yes, the other reason why I am singing for the Jail track is because of Neil,'' she adds.
In January this year(2009), the melody queen underwent knee surgery at at the 'Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital' at Pune. As she was suffering from chronic arthritis and was unable to walk properly, she got her knee caps replaced. But that is hardly something that can deter her from hitting the high notes. Incidentally, her sister Asha Bhosle had sung in Bhandarkar's earlier film, Page 3 'Kitne azeeb rishte hay yahaa par', a very real song. indian tour
